One thing iPad keyboard cases have in common is undersized keyboards and keys, and they often have non-standard arrangements of those keys. The FlipKase Keyboard Folio for iPad (2nd-4th gen), a project currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, solves the undersized keyboard problem by letting you use Apple’s full-sized Bluetooth keyboard. The KeyKase reminds me of a ring-binder notebook when closed, but it opens up to support your iPad at two angles in either horizontal or vertical orientation. It has keyboard retention clips to keep the Bluetooth keyboard securely in place, or you can pop it out of the clips and use it where it’s most comfortable. The case does have a padded wrist rest for when you use the keyboard in the retention clips. When you aren’t typing, you can store both the iPad and the keyboard inside the case. A retainer band keeps the iPad securely in the cushioned storage area, and it keeps the feet on the back of the keyboard from coming into contact with the iPad. There’s an Auto-Cover for the keyboard’s power button to prevent it from being accidentally turned on while in the case, and an elastic band holds the case closed.
The FlipKase funding period ends on Apr 10, 9:21pm EDT. A minimum pledge of $49 gets you an early-bird price on either a black or dark brown faux-leather FlipKase; this will increase to $56 after the specials are all claimed. A minimum pledge of $70 gets you a FlipKase in black leather.
